RVIVR consistently remind me on every album what it feels like to be a vulnerable, emotionally naked, awkward misfit - while at the same time reminding me that no matter how low I’ve ever felt, I still experience first world, straight white male privilege every single day of my life. While all that is going on, their music makes me happier than anything else ever does, because that brutal fucking honesty is just beautiful in its relentless, punch-in-the-face way and makes me think and feel and experience things more than pretty much any other band ever has.
Tomorrow they’re playing their new album in its entirety at the Vera Project. I’m really excited to go to a show full of people that still feel something for the music they’re watching.
